Operation Sexy Bitch gets a new pair of shoes! August 17th, 2009
First, I have to start off be saying that I CANNOT BELIEVE how fast this time is flying!! I’m already in week THREE?? WOW! I’m really enjoying all of this, and tracking the numbers is really helping me stay focused!
SPEAKING OF NUMBERS!! Week 2 totals were 9 hours, 6 minutes and 23 seconds of workout time (nearly exactly last weeks total!) for a calorie burn of 3812!! That is down 523 calories from last week, which is odd, and I’m a little bummed about that, but it is what it is!! Now to see what I can do THIS WEEK! (Insert evil laugh here!)
Today was so easy. I had taken two whole days off and I was so ready to get back into my routine, I can’t even tell you! I was at Dick’s Sporting Goods yesterday waiting for a movie to start next door and decided to check out their running shoes. I absolutely do not have the money for new running shoes, but with the knee issues, and after listening to my runner friends, I do realize that shoes are super important. Basically I decided it couldn’t hurt to window shop at least! I found a pair of Asics that were on super sale for $39.99 and decided to try them on- just for fun. Since I was trying THOSE on, I figured I’d throw a more expensive pair of Nikes in there as well. Again, just for fun.
I wanted to compare and figure out what I needed to save, etc, to get the shoes I felt I was going to need if I was going to keep running. I put those Asics on and thought I’d died and gone to heaven!! I took a little jog around the track over there and just knew I had to have these shoes! I got back to my bench and saw the Nikes and thought ‘If these feel amazing, IMAGINE how awesome the Nikes will feel!! I put them on and was so disappointed. They felt nice and all, but nothing like the CHEAPER, ON SALE, Asics. I asked the guys that worked there what they thought and they said the Asics was their most popular shoe. AND IT WAS ON SALE. Did I mention that already? So you know I got them, right? I HAD TO! That just means I have to be that much more frugal with my money, but since Rachel’s birthday is over, I have ZERO (yes, I know those of you who know me find that impossible to imagine) plans until I leave for Labor Day weekend in San Diego. So making up that money should hopefully come easily. And hopefully be worth it!!
Unfortunately for my fabulous new running shoes, I was doing a home video (30 Day Shred baby!) and spin class today, so I didn’t get to take the new shoes out for a ‘spin,’ so to speak (bad joke!). I don’t really want to wear the new shoes down by wearing them all the time right now, so in my gym bag they stayed…
I got my morning routine in, and felt great! Went to work, and actually made it to spin class at lunch, so I had burned nearly 1000 calories by 1 pm!! YAY OSB!!
After work was a movie night with my book club (who changed the date and forgot to tell me), so off to the movie I went with my friend Jessica, and we ended up really enjoying the time together and the movie! Even if we saved several seats that never got filled! LOL Oh well. We got some quality time together waiting for and after the movie! I stopped by Subway for dinner and got an Oven Roasted Chicken sandwich and removed most of the bread, and some Baked Lays. I only ate half the Lays, so overall, if was an awesome day for my goals! I love it when I can go OUT and still find a way to meet all my goals!!
